Inside the Monastery Restoring Ancient Books From the Vatican's Archives | EWTN News Nightly

Description: Within the walls of a thousand-year-old abbey in Italy, centuries-old texts are brought back to life. Since 1931, this monastery has been home to an ancient book restoration workshop. The workshop receives historical books and manuscripts, some of them extremely old and in very poor condition. These books leave the workshop restored, renewed, and returned to the beauty they had when they were first printed or originally copied as manuscripts. Many of the books come from the Vatican, particularly from archives that are often stored underground. EWTN News' Benedicte Cedergren reports.
