BBC’s Romesh Obsession EXPOSES Why Viewers Are Switching Off
Description: Mike Graham delivers his Mike’s Meltdown taking aim at the BBC, the licence fee and what he sees as the broadcaster’s growing disconnect from its audience. The veteran broadcaster and former Fleet Street journalist reacts to comments about AI replacing presenters, falling licence fee revenue and further cuts across BBC journalism.
He also tears into the line-up for Celebrity Traitors, mentioning Romesh Ranganathan, Richard E. Grant, Ross Kemp, Rob Beckett, Michael Sheen, Amol Rajan, Miranda Hart, Joe Lycett and Maya Jama. Graham contrasts the BBC’s scale and spending with independent media, arguing that smaller digital broadcasters can operate more efficiently and build audiences without compulsory funding.
The segment also touches on UK Live, Liz Truss, Matt Goodwin and the wider growth of independent political media. Graham ultimately makes the case for ending the BBC licence fee and moving the corporation towards a fully commercial broadcasting model.
