What happened to summer!? ☔😂
After an incredibly hot day yesterday, today is suddenly rainy and surprisingly cold for August, with temperatures only reaching around 23-24°C!
But the change in weather is great for me, I'm going to enjoy the colder rainy weather
We'll be starting our rainy adventure in Ueno Park, where the Taiwan Festival is happening this weekend! 🇹🇼✨
The festival won't be open yet when we arrive, and it requires an entrance fee, so we won't actually be going inside today. Instead, we'll take a look around the area before it opens and see what's being prepared!
From Ueno, we'll make our way towards Akihabara! 🎮✨
We'll explore the streets, check out some anime and character goods, and see if there are any interesting events or displays happening around Akihabara this weekend.
After that, we'll head towards Kappabashi Kitchen Town! 🍳🔪
Kappabashi is famous for its huge variety of kitchenware, Japanese knives, restaurant supplies, dishes, and incredibly realistic food samples, so we'll spend some time exploring while we wait for today's BIG event...
The Asakusa Samba Carnival! 💃🇧🇷🎉
One of Tokyo's most colorful events is taking over Asakusa today, with an enormous samba parade, elaborate costumes, music, dancing, and a completely different atmosphere from the traditional Tokyo festivals we usually visit!
We'll watch the samba parade, explore Asakusa in the rain, and check out some of the festival stalls and food along the way. 🍡🍖✨
It's going to be a very different Tokyo summer stream today with rain, cool weather, anime, kitchen town, Taiwan, and SAMBA all in one adventure! ☔🎮💃
