Shock move as Trump confirms US bombers pulled from UK airbase over fresh threat
Description: President Donald Trump has confirmed fresh threat concerns were behind the decision to remove US bombers from RAF Fairford in Britain, saying the aircraft "didn't fly out by accident".
The President said the US believed there "might be a threat" and moved the bombers rather than leave them exposed. He also said officials believe they know who made the threat.
"We had a threat. And if we're going to be threatened, we would just move them. And that's sort of alleviated that," Trump told reporters on Monday.
"We actually know the people that made the threat. And they've got themselves going to be problems."
Trump's remarks appear to undercut Marco Rubio, who suggested earlier the move was part of "regular rotations" of Department of War assets.
CNN reported the US pulled its long-range bombers from RAF Fairford after an unspecified new threat.
