LIVE | Explosion Heard Near Hormuz As Blasts Echo Across Qeshm, Bandar Abbas Amid US-Iran Rift

Description: Explosions were heard near Iran’s Qeshm Island with Iranian state media saying the sound came from the sea and that no rockets or missiles struck the island.

The cause remains unclear, amid heightened US-Iran tensions around the Strait of Hormuz. The blasts came as Washington and Tehran pursued diplomatic contacts at the UN General Assembly.
