‘If You Come To Britain, You Speak ENGLISH!’ | Migrants Told To Embrace British Culture And Values
Description: “If you come to Britain, you speak English.”
Julia Hartley-Brewer argues that British identity should be rooted in shared culture, values and respect for the law, not race or ethnicity.
Speaking with Philip Ingram, she challenges multiculturalism and says people choosing to settle in Britain should integrate rather than live completely separate lives.
“You should abide by the culture, norms, laws and values of the country that you’ve chosen to live in.”
The pair discuss belonging, national identity and Kemi Badenoch’s comments about Britishness, with Julia insisting that the same expectations should apply regardless of someone’s background.
