Why Some People Never Grow Up - Mark Manson

Description: In this episode, Mark Manson takes us through the stages of psychological development. Beginning with childhood, the child sees the world in a very simple way - they want something and they either get it or they don't. If they get it, they are happy. If they don't, they are unhappy. The we have the Adolescent Stage, where the child develops an understanding of other people's perspectives and social contracts. Relationships in adolescence are often conditional - "if I do this for you, you'll do this for me in return". Then there's Adulthood, the stage where you discover who you truly are and find something worth suffering for. You gain the courage to be disliked because you know where you stand and have a strong foundation of moral principles. Unfortunately, many people do not reach the "Adult Stage".

This video explains why you want to reach adulthood (psychologically).
