Russian Strike Hits Kharkiv Hours After Trump’s Energy Ceasefire Truce
Description: CCTV Shows Moment of Strike on Kharkiv After Trump’s Ceasefire Announcement
Russian attacks killed six people in two Ukrainian cities on Sunday (October 11), including three people killed in a strike on a grocery store in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said 20 people were injured, including two children. Three military personnel were also reported killed in a drone strike in the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said a Russian strike had reportedly hit Kharkiv’s Thermal Power Plant No. 5 (TPP-5), raising concerns over attacks on critical energy infrastructure.
The reported strikes came hours after US President Donald Trump announced an immediate ‘energy ceasefire’ between Russia and Ukraine, claiming both sides had agreed to halt attacks on energy infrastructure. However, the terms and implementation of the proposed ceasefire remained unclear.
Meanwhile, Russian media reported that Ukrainian strikes killed one person in Donetsk, while Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Russian air defences had intercepted more than 20 drones heading towards the capital.
