Drag racing: The 300mph motorsport where women keep winning - Global Women, BBC World Service
Description: Top Fuel drag racing is the world’s fastest sport. Drivers propel themselves down racetracks in nitromethane-fuelled cars whilst enduring more g-force than astronauts launching into space. It makes Formula One look slow.

The highest speed ever hit in F1 is 232mph (373km/h) while a Top Fuel driver has reached 347mph (558km/h).
Drag racing is also one of the few sports where men and women compete against each other on a level playing field. Most motorsports are heavily male-dominated - no woman has competed in F1 for decades - but Top Fuel drag racing is an exception. And women don’t just compete - in Europe at least - they dominate the sport.
