Description: 🎖️ ATONEMENT (2026) | Trailer 4K | Boyd Holbrook, Hiam Abbass, Kenneth Branagh
💥 One decision lasts only seconds. Living with it can take a lifetime.
Baghdad, 2003.
A family is simply trying to make it home.
A Marine is trying to survive a battlefield where danger can appear without warning.
Then their paths cross.
In the confusion of a firefight, U.S. Marine Lou D'Alessandro makes a split-second decision that leaves an Iraqi family devastated — and creates a memory that neither side will ever be able to escape.
🪖 But the war is only the beginning of this story.
Years later, Lou has returned to America, yet part of him remains trapped in Baghdad.
Unable to reconcile the man he has become with what happened during the war, he begins searching for the surviving members of the family whose lives were permanently changed that day.
His search eventually leads to Mariam Khachaturian.
For Lou, meeting her could finally mean confronting the moment that has haunted him for years.
For Mariam, it means facing the man connected to an unimaginable loss.
And between them stands journalist Michael Reid, attempting to bring together two people who remember the same tragedy from opposite sides.
🕯️ A family carries the consequences of war.
🎖️ A Marine carries the weight of one irreversible decision.
📰 A journalist becomes the bridge between two lives.
💔 Grief survives long after the fighting ends.
⚖️ Responsibility cannot change the past.
🤝 And forgiveness may be the hardest thing anyone can ask.
Boyd Holbrook delivers the story of Lou D'Alessandro alongside Hiam Abbass as Mariam Khachaturian and Kenneth Branagh as journalist Michael Reid.
Written and directed by Reed Van Dyk and inspired by Dexter Filkins' article, ATONEMENT moves beyond the battlefield to examine what remains when the shooting stops.
This is a story not about winning a war — but about the people forced to live with what war leaves behind.
🔥 The battlefield eventually becomes quiet. Memory doesn't.
