Spain Sees Mass March in Memory Of Octogenarian Linked to Housing Protests | N18G

Description: Thousands of Spaniards marched through central Madrid to honour 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal, whose eviction from her home sparked nationwide protests over Spain’s housing crisis. Abascal died on Wednesday after being hospitalised for severe anxiety and exhaustion following her eviction on September 23. The growing anger over housing shortages and soaring rents has intensified political tensions, prompting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to call a snap general election for November 29.
