Description: WICKER (2026) | Trailer 4K | Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage
🧺 In a village where everyone knows their place, one lonely woman decides she no longer wants the life chosen for her.
WICKER transforms an unusual love story into a darkly playful adult fairytale about desire, conformity and the dangerous consequences of finding happiness in a form nobody else is willing to accept.
Olivia Colman plays the Fisherwoman, an isolated figure living on the edge of a coastal community that has never truly welcomed her. Years of mockery and judgment have taught her exactly what the village expects from a woman like her — and she has finally had enough.
Instead of waiting for love to arrive, she decides to commission it.
She approaches a talented basketmaker with an extraordinary request: weave her the perfect husband.
Against every expectation, the impossible becomes real.
Alexander Skarsgård portrays the Wicker Husband, a handcrafted companion whose arrival radically changes the Fisherwoman's existence. What initially appears bizarre to everyone around them gradually develops into something intimate, passionate and unexpectedly genuine.
For the first time, she has created a life that belongs entirely to her.
The village cannot tolerate it.
Whispers become fascination. Fascination becomes resentment. And as jealousy spreads through the community, an unconventional romance begins challenging far more than anyone expected.
🌊 A woman rejected by her community chooses her own path.
🧺 An impossible creation becomes something real.
❤️ Affection grows where nobody expected to find it.
👁️ Curiosity turns into obsession.
🔥 Jealousy threatens to destroy what others cannot understand.
✨ And the strangest man in the village may reveal just how strange everyone else truly is.
Written and directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, WICKER is inspired by Ursula Wills-Jones' short story The Wicker Husband. The film brings together fantasy, romance and dark comedy for an eccentric story exploring loneliness, social expectations, acceptance and the complicated freedom of refusing to conform.
Olivia Colman stars opposite Alexander Skarsgård, with Peter Dinklage and Elizabeth Debicki among the ensemble surrounding this surreal relationship.
