'Leave Immediately': Abiy's Ethiopia Warns Eritrea As Troops Cross Into Tigray | Firstpost Africa
Description: Watch this video as Firstpost explains how the battlefield in northern Ethiopia has shifted from an internal security crisis into a volatile regional standoff. Days after diplomatic ties completely collapsed between former wartime allies, eyewitnesses and conflict monitors confirm that heavily armoured Eritrean troops have crossed the border into Ethiopia's Tigray region. In response, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government has demanded an immediate, unconditional withdrawal, while military drones have reportedly struck Eritrean supply convoys and military vehicles near Adigrat. Asmara has strongly denied the incursion, dismissing Addis Ababa's claims as a fabricated pretext for aggression. With raw memories of the 2020–2022 civil war and lingering disputes over landlocked Ethiopia's access to the Red Sea, this sudden geopolitical reversal threatens to ignite a wider catastrophic conflict across the Horn of Africa. Josh Barnes brings you more on this story on Firstpost Africa.
