For 4 days, I dive into a world in Seoul where appearance can sometimes seem to determine everything.

South Korea is known for its massive beauty industry, plastic surgery, and intense social pressure surrounding appearance. But how far does this obsession with beauty really go?

I speak to people who have undergone multiple plastic surgery procedures, discover how deeply fat-shaming and extreme beauty standards can be rooted in the culture, and investigate why South Korea has had one of the highest suicide rates among OECD countries for years. I also step into the world of looksmaxxing myself and experience what it feels like to constantly be judged based on your appearance.

What starts as a search for the Korean beauty ideal quickly turns into a much darker story about social pressure, insecurity, mental health, and the price of perfection.

These are four days in the dark side of Seoul.
