Australians struggling to believe migration will be cut from any major party
Description: Institute of Public Affairs Chief Economist Adam Creighton says he prefers One Nation's “more extreme” migration policy.
“I think it’s a good policy; it’s much better than Labor’s policy. I personally prefer the One Nation one, the more extreme version,” Mr Creighton told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“A lot of Australians will not believe that these targets will actually be met.
“It’s very difficult to get down, and the system that the Coalition, largely, I might add, has constructed which is demand-driven.
“It’s very hard to get the numbers down.” Close description
