Description: Pope Leo XIV’s final event in France was Holy Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Stephen in Metz, a nearly 900-year-old witness to the faith of generations. The city of Metz was a fitting final stop because it is a historic border city and crossroads at the heart of Europe. It is also closely connected to Venerable Robert Schuman, one of the founding fathers of the European Union, who lived in Moselle, represented the region in France’s National Assembly, and is buried there.
