BREAKING: Deadly 'NEW WAR' In Iran; IRGC In Action, Heavy Fighting Rocks Restive Province | WATCH
Description: Gunmen have attacked security vehicles in Bampur in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province, adding to renewed violence inside the country as Tehran faces a wider regional confrontation.
Reports differ on the death toll. The Baluch rights group Haalvsh reported at least three people killed, while Iranian state television reported two police officer dead and the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency put the toll at two.
Sistan-Baluchestan has long seen tensions between Iranian authorities and armed Baluch groups. The largely Sunni Baluch population has complained of discrimination and marginalisation, while Tehran accuses militant groups operating in the region of terrorism and separatist violence.
There has been no confirmed claim of responsibility for the latest attack, and no evidence so far that it is directly connected to Iran’s wider regional conflict.
