Imran Khan's Supporters March Towards 'Locked Down' Islamabad | Firstpost Live

Description: Pakistan's political showdown is intensifying as supporters of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan continue their long march towards Islamabad, demanding his release. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convoy reached Peshawar on the fifth day of its journey, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi indicating that he would take the lead as the march continued. But the road to the capital is far from straightforward. Repeated route changes, security restrictions and the government's resistance to the demonstrations have raised the stakes, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warned that protests could disrupt exports, imports, manufacturing and Pakistan's already strained economy. Can PTI turn its street mobilisation into meaningful political concessions? And will the march bring the government back to the negotiating table, or deepen Pakistan's political crisis? Josh Barnes brings you the full story on Firstpost Live.
