IRGC Hits Vessel Just As US Warship Arrives To Escort? Major Hormuz Clash Erupts

Description: An LPG tanker has reportedly been struck by an “unknown projectile” while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, triggering a fresh security alarm along one of the world’s most sensitive maritime energy routes. According to a UK Maritime Trade Operations warning, the incident occurred at approximately 17:16 UTC while the vessel was reportedly passing through the Strait at its narrowest point. Initial reporting has not identified the projectile, established where it was launched from or attributed the incident to any actor. The location makes the incident particularly sensitive. Commercial vessels and energy cargoes regularly transit the Strait, while ships navigating its narrow corridor have limited room to manoeuvre. Authorities will now need to determine the condition of the LPG tanker, whether any crew members were injured and the extent of any damage. Most importantly, investigators will be seeking to establish exactly what struck the vessel and where the unidentified projectile originated.
