Absolute Justice League Confirmed At NYCC — First Look And Full Roster
Description: #AbsoluteJustice #DCComics #NYCC
The villains run the world. The heroes are outlaws. And for the first time ever they are fighting back together.
At New York Comic Con 2026, DC Comics officially announced Absolute Justice, a five-issue crossover event miniseries that brings every hero in the Absolute Universe together for the first time. This is the moment fans have been waiting for since the Absolute Universe launched two years ago with Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Wonder Woman. Each hero has been fighting alone in their own solo books against a world where the villains are the established power and the heroes are treated as outsiders and rebels. Absolute Justice is what happens when those heroes finally stop fighting alone.
The series is written by Jason Aaron, the writer behind Absolute Superman, and illustrated by Juan Ferreyra who has drawn both Absolute Superman and Detective Comics. Scott Snyder, the architect of the entire Absolute Universe, announced the series on social media alongside the NYCC panel calling Jason Aaron the co-architect of the Absolute line. The first look cover by Ferreyra reveals the full Absolute Justice League roster — Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, Absolute Wonder Woman, Absolute Martian Manhunter, Absolute Flash, and Absolute Green Lantern Jo Mullein. Martian Manhunter serves as the driving force behind assembling the team, using his telepathic abilities to connect the scattered heroes across the Absolute Universe and convince them they need each other. The five-issue format means there is no room for filler. Every page carries maximum stakes. In the Absolute Universe the true rulers are the villains. Ra’s al Ghul, the Joker, Hector Hammond, Veronica Cale, and Elenore Thawne operate as the established Justice League of this world, holding power while the heroes exist as fugitives. The trailer shown at NYCC teases that these villain rulers have decided enough is enough and are retaliating against the growing resistance. The tagline says it all — if everything is tipped against us I guess we have to fight. Snyder has also confirmed that Absolute Justice is building toward Absolute Crisis, an even larger event where the Absolute Universe will eventually collide with the main DC Universe. Absolute Justice releases in April 2027 with no tie-in issues required making it a fully self-contained five-issue event. In this video we break down the full NYCC announcement, the six-hero roster, the villain-ruled world, Jason Aaron and Juan Ferreyra’s creative vision, Scott Snyder’s masterplan, the Absolute Crisis tease, and why this might be the most anticipated DC Comics event in years.
