Meanwhile, the Life Foundation is secretly experimenting with an alien symbiote, with most human trials ending in failure. Acting on a tip-off, Eddie infiltrates the lab with Dr. Dora to gather evidence. He rescues a captive woman, but the symbiote inside her transfers to him. Eddie makes a narrow escape from the facility, only to experience physical mutations and a ravenous appetite. Provoked by a neighbor's noise, the symbiote's power awakens, and Eddie realizes he is sharing his body with an alien organism. Close description
