Morocco's UAE Deal Algeria's Nightmare? | Firstpost Africa

Description: Watch this video as Firstpost explains how a major geopolitical fault line is being redrawn across North Africa. While Algeria has severed diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates and expelled its ambassador over alleged hostile interventions in the Sahel and Libya, Morocco is moving in the exact opposite direction. In Rabat, senior military commanders have welcomed the UAE’s armed forces chief of staff for the third joint military committee, sealing an expanded defence partnership and honouring diplomatic ties dating back to 1980. With Abu Dhabi previously backing Morocco's sovereignty claims over Western Sahara by opening a consulate in Laayoune, this widening rift exposes a fierce continental struggle over trade corridors, diplomatic influence, and security architecture stretching from the Mediterranean down into the heart of the Sahel. Josh Barnes brings you more on this story on Firstpost Africa.
