Saturday in Holcomb Valley, I set a little challenge for myself: climb enough routes to match or beat the height of the Statue of Liberty (305 ft), and track it all using the climb elevation gain stat on my @COROSGlobal Apex 4.
I checked my watch after each pitch to see how close I was, passed the statue after pitch 5, then squeezed in one more route I had my eye on. My final total was 390 feet of elevation gain (the sum of my 6 individual pitches plus a little extra scrambling I did), 85 feet more than Lady Liberty.
Glad I can now tell my kids I climbed the Statue of Liberty 😂
