In an earlier ruling, presiding officer Chiz Escudero ruled to delay the trial proceedings at a later time today to allow both counsels and senator-judges to prepare for the presentation of the financial analyst. This is after the Prosecution said that their presenting counsel, Erwin Matib, is feeling ill and unable to conduct a direct examination on the BIR witness. Escudero then gave the Prosecution an ultimatum to present the BIR witness by tomorrow, regardless if prosecutor Erwin Matib, is available or not.
However, after convening with the senator-judges, the Court decided to suspend the trial and resume at 2:30-3:00 PM. Escudero also told the Prosecution to present the BIR witness today but if not, there will be a possible early adjournment of the trial. #VPOnTrial Close description
