Dear Indian Students.. AI Will Make Question Papers! NOW Less Paper Leaks in India #shorts
Description: Artificial intelligence and last-minute question-paper preparation are being discussed as part of efforts to strengthen India’s examination system and reduce paper leaks. The proposals involve secure question banks, digital delivery and wider computer-based testing, rather than an announced nationwide switch to AI-written exams.
Nandan Nilekani, who heads the examination reforms task force, has advocated preparing final papers shortly before examinations from a large pool of questions. Speaking on October 13, he argued that reducing the time for which a completed paper exists could weaken the incentive and opportunity to sell it illegally.
The panel is also considering a secure “question vault” containing more than one lakh questions, prepared and reviewed throughout the year. Papers could then be delivered digitally just minutes before an examination begins.
Separately, a parliamentary committee examining the National Testing Agency has recommended investment in question banks, stronger cybersecurity and a transition towards computer-based examinations as digital infrastructure improves. These are related reform discussions, not a single system already operating across every Indian examination.
The distinction between generating questions and assembling a paper is important. Selecting reviewed questions from a secure database differs from allowing AI to invent unverified questions immediately before candidates begin.
For students preparing for competitive examinations, implementation would need to protect accuracy, syllabus coverage, language quality and comparable difficulty. Assessment guidance already stresses review, moderation and consistent academic standards.
The proposals remain under consideration. Candidates should follow official examination notices for confirmed changes; reports discussing AI-assisted reforms do not themselves alter the format of an upcoming test.
