"They Want To Tick A Load Of BOXES" | BBC Diversity Drive: 'This Isn’t About EQUALITY'
Description: Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by New Culture Forum senior fellow Philip Kiszely to discuss reported BBC ethnicity pay differences and whether its diversity drive puts box-ticking ahead of merit.
Julia says, "They want to tick a load of boxes," while Mr Kiszely argues, "This isn’t about equality" and calls for "the best person for the job", irrespective of background.
The discussion examines fairness, licence-fee funding and whether diversity-focused recruitment risks damaging the BBC’s content.
