(Pt 1) EV STUMPS the Dealer?! ('24 Cadillac Lyriq EV: 12V Battery goes DEAD; Car is IMMOBILIZED?)
Description: It's official: we have the First Ever fully Electric Vehicle (EV) to diagnose at PHAD!!
Filmed in January, 2026 and published for the Labor Day Weekend 2026 Special.
This 2024 Cadillac Lyric EV RWD only has 8,000 miles on the odometer, and is under warranty.
The 90-YEAR OLD owner is FED UP with the local Cadillac Dealer because after 5 separate visits they cannot Diagnose and Repair a very Annoying Problem.
The owner says that some days the 12V Battery goes completely DEAD, and he cannot use the car at all!! In order to "Jump Start" his Fancy DEAD EV, he has to perform some GYMNASTICS:
-Open the tailgate with the manual key.
-CRAWL in through the tailgate and over the rear seat into the Driver's seat.
-Pull hood release to access the DEAD 12V battery.
-Jump 12V battery to wake up the car.
This is quite inconvenient to do every day, especially at 90 years old!!
Let's see if we can reproduce the customer complaint and see what this contraption is doing to the 12V battery while parked.
Will we be able to Diagnose and Repair this DEFECTIVE EV?
