Pope Leo speaks about Blessed Fulton Sheen’s Beatification and Canonization in flight to France

Description: During his flight to France this morning, just hours after Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen’s beatification, Pope Leo XIV recalled watching Sheen’s television program with his family.

The Pope described it as a way they spent time together while receiving the truths of the faith through Sheen’s lively teaching. He said he was happy to approve Sheen’s beatification and revealed that many people wrote to ask why he had not attended the ceremony.

When a reporter suggested he could attend Sheen’s canonization, Pope Leo smiled and replied: “There we go!”
