Tokyo Live 💖🍎 Cooking Free Ingredients From Government Tax Return! (Furusato Nozei) 🥔
Description: Today I'm streaming indoors from Tokyo, Japan!!
I have boxes of fruit and vegetables that I've been recieving from government refunds
In Japan, when you pay taxes, you have an option to nominate some rural cities in Japan for part of your tax to go to
This helps support rural towns since so many people live in the bigger cities in Japan
As a "gift" for choosing cities, each one offers a few things that they will gift you if you send some of your tax money there
The gift is usually worth about 30% of what you send them, and I like to try choose towns that will provide things that will tasty!
Last year I donated some of my tax money to Kagoshima, my home prefecture, and I received 10kg of young potatoes!
The potatoes are very tasty, but I thought it would be nice to cook with them so today I'll use them as one of my primary ingredients to make potato mochi!
The other one I'm using today is 10kg box of apples that came from Nagano
These are really tasty apples, and I'm going to make an apple pie with them!
I've tried to find the recipe I used before, which made an amazing apple pie, so I hope it comes out really tasty again!
Today will be a fun day of baking and cooking!
So please join me for a very fun and relaxing day as I bring you...
A little piece of Japan every day!
