‘CIA BEHIND MASSACRE...’: Huge Uproar In America’s Backyard Over 1968 Student Killings | Watch
Description: Thousands took to the streets of Mexico City to mark the 58th anniversary of the 1968 Tlatelolco student massacre, with protesters demanding justice and accountability for the victims. The march from the Plaza de las Tres Culturas to the Zocalo also revived allegations about links between former Mexican officials and the CIA, as demonstrators criticised what they described as decades of US influence in Latin America.
The October 2 massacre remains one of the darkest episodes in Mexico's modern history, when security forces cracked down on a student demonstration just days before the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Around 8,000 people reportedly joined this year's march, while authorities said 18 people suffered minor injuries and a teenager was hospitalised after a device allegedly exploded in his hand.
