Tokyo Live ๐๐จ AMAZING Art Mikoshi Parade, Stalls, & More! Tokyo University of the Arts Festival! โฉ๏ธ
Description: Today I'm streaming outdoors from Tokyo, Japan! ๐ฏ๐ตโจ
It's another surprisingly cold and rainy day in Tokyo! โ๐
We're only at the beginning of autumn, but it's already cool enough that I'm wearing a cardigan outside! After expecting a long and incredibly hot summer, I'm definitely enjoying this weather and I'm starting to wonder if the worst of the summer heat might actually be over! ๐
The cooler weather should also make today perfect for another outdoor adventure, because we have a very special event to see!
We'll start today's stream at Nippori Station and make our way towards Ueno. ๐ถโโ๏ธ
Today, Tokyo University of the Arts is holding its Geisai university festival in Ueno! ๐จ
We'll spend plenty of time exploring the festival, browsing the different stalls made by students and checking out all the interesting artwork and creations around the area.
But the BIG reason we're visiting today is...
The Geisai Mikoshi Parade! ๐จโฉ๏ธ๐
These aren't your typical Japanese festival mikoshi!
Students from Tokyo University of the Arts create enormous, incredibly imaginative mikoshi filled with original artwork, unusual designs and all kinds of creative ideasโand then carry their creations through Ueno in a huge parade!
I saw some of the mikoshi they created last year and they were AMAZING, so I'm really excited to see what this year's students have come up with! ๐โจ
We'll watch these giant works of art make their way through Ueno, take a closer look at as many of the different designs as we can, and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Tokyo's most creative university festivals.
After the parade, we'll continue our adventure towards Akihabara, looking for something good to eat for lunch along the way! ๐๐ฎ
We'll eventually finish today's stream around Akihabara.
So grab an umbrella, put on something warm, and come spend this cool and rainy autumn day exploring Tokyo Art University's Festival as I bring you...
