Chainsmoker Cat Just Got Away With Something And Nobody Noticed
Description: Yani Neko's Episode 9 tackles fetishism head-on — and somehow does it with more nuance than most anime manage in an entire season. From Ouji Ruko's obsession with Imoko to the unbelievably dark casket scene, I break down every joke, every layer of commentary on racism and fetishization of the Beastfolk, and why this might be the show's smartest episode yet.
In this video I cover:
Yani Neko's smoking/pooping dependency and what it says about addiction and anxiety
Ouji Ruko, the new Beastfolk fetishist, and her obsession with Imoko
The Landlord bathroom scene and its shock-value comedy
Kansai Neko's painfully unfunny Basho pun
The "Nannmonee" song incident
The funeral/casket scene and its layered racism commentary
The Yaku brainwashing-app storyline
Jikaku's insecurities and a breakdown of what actually makes someone a good creative
Shizue's staged burglary and Imoko's codependency
