I Sat in the Jetour F700 and I Can't Stop Thinking About It
Description: 4:06 – Everyone told me not to build parts for Chinese cars. Then I walked into Auto China 2026 in Beijing and sat in a ute that made me forget I own a BYD Shark 6.
We're back in China, and this year the show floor is a different animal. We start the day in a Denza D9, charging our scooters off the car on the way in (yes, that's a thing here, and no, we don't get it in Australia), then work our way through the parts hall, the little electric light trucks nobody has brought to Australia yet, and the stands that actually matter for us.
In this one we crawl under the Jetour G700 to look at the air suspension, the battery layout and how well everything is tucked up. We jump into the iCar V27 and get the real story on why the V23 isn't landing here. Then we finish in the Jetour F700 Wolf, sitting on 37s with a 3 inch lift, hands down the best ute I have ever sat in.
We also get into Avatr build quality, the Xpeng van with a drone in the back, and Nio's pre-emptive suspension tech.
JETOUR F700 vs CHERY STOCKMAN, THE SHORT VERSION
Everyone keeps asking, so here it is. The easiest way to explain the F700 is as the bigger, more powerful brother to the Chery Stockman. They both come out of the wider Chery group, but they are not the same ute with a different badge.
🛻 Stockman: more work focused, slightly smaller, diesel PHEV, 350kW
🔥 F700: bigger, taller, longer wheelbase, petrol PHEV, 665kW
📏 F700 wheelbase is about 100mm longer
⚡ F700 sits above it as the premium, high performance flagship
Same family, very different jobs. The Stockman is built to work, the F700 is built to show off.
