US Midterms: Trump, Vance Hit Campaign Trail as Democrats Target Republican States

Description: The US midterm campaign is intensifying as Republicans and Democrats battle for control of Congress, with increasingly competitive races emerging in states that have long favoured the GOP. President Donald Trump has rallied in Iowa to support Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson, while Vice President JD Vance has campaigned in Nebraska as Democrats target key Senate seats. As Democrats set their sights on Senate seats in states including Texas, Iowa, Ohio and Alaska, former President Barack Obama is also preparing to hit the campaign trail. Firstpost’s Nick Harper reports from Washington, DC, on the controversies shaping the campaign, including Trump’s renewed attacks on Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and the backlash over a controversial advertisement in Ohio’s governor’s race involving Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Democrat Amy Acton.
