Only Toonami (Peter Cullen Tribute) 4K
Description: A tribute to the great Peter Cullen, put together by SlimD716 and metroidman7.
This was a hard video to make. Not from a technical standpoint, but an emotional one. The news of Peter Cullen's passing hit me hard. Often, while working on this I had to take a moment to reflect on the overwhelming rush of memories and nostalgia I was hit with.
Toonami was a huge part of my childhood growing up and I still carry those memories with me to this day. Peter Cullen is a large part of what made Toonami memorable for me. Most people recognize him as the voice of the great Optimus Prime, but I remember him most as the voice behind the promotional videos for an action cartoon/anime block that I would watch every day after school. No one could hype up a show better than Peter Cullen with his unique and legendary voice. Hearing his voice on a promo for Dragon Ball Z was just something you had to be there for. Together with the Toonami staff and anyone else involved, they really did build us a better cartoon show.
"Accept no substitutes"
Thank you for the memories. Rest in peace Mr. Cullen.
