Hochul slams Trump over Los Angeles, San Diego comments
Description: New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Tuesday condemned President Trump for suggesting that Iran could "take out" Los Angeles and San Diego during a campaign event in Nebraska.
"It is shocking," the governor told reporters at a press conference in Dutchess County. "I don't know how anybody could just get up there and suggest that one of our mortal enemies, Iran, take out two American cities."
President Trump, during a campaign event with Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE) on Monday night, suggested that Iran could take out a U.S. city with a nuclear weapon, pointing to Los Angeles and San Diego and calling it a "small price to pay."
"I think this is just a continued deterioration of what he stands for, if anything, what his presidency means," Gov. Hochul said. "This could be a new low, except every day there's a new low."
