Something is seriously wrong with my eye and I don’t know what it is.
It started as what I thought was a stye. A small bump. Nothing I hadn’t dealt with before. I figured it would go away in a few days like every other one I’ve had.
That was almost a month ago.
It didn’t go away. It got worse. Then it got worse again. And it has kept getting worse every single day since.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know my situation. I lost my right eye to cancer when I was 2 years old. I’ve worn a prosthetic eye ever since. That means I have one real eye. One. That’s it. Everything I see, everything I film, everything I do — it all runs through a single eye.
And right now, both of them are in trouble.
The side with my prosthetic is swollen, red, and inflamed to the point where I can’t even wear my eye normally. I can’t take it out and put it back in like I always have. The thing I’ve done every single day since I was a toddler, I suddenly can’t do.
But that’s not the part that scares me.
The part that scares me is my real eye.
It’s red. It’s irritated. And I’m losing vision in it.
I’ve spent my entire life knowing that this eye is the only one I have. It’s the one thing I’ve always been careful with. It’s the one thing I can’t afford to lose. And over the last few weeks, I’ve been watching it get worse and I have no idea why.
That’s why I’ve been gone.
No videos. No shorts. Nothing for almost a month. People have been commenting asking where I went, if I quit, if something happened. This is what happened. I haven’t been able to film. I haven’t been able to look at a screen for long. I’ve been sitting at home watching this get worse and worse and hoping it would turn around on its own.
It hasn’t.
In this video, I show you everything. What it actually looks like right now, up close and unfiltered. How it started and how fast it escalated. Every symptom I’m dealing with — the swelling, the pain, the redness, and the vision changes I’ve been noticing in my real eye. I go through exactly what the last three weeks have looked like, day by day.
I’m not a doctor. I don’t have answers yet. I don’t know if this is an infection, an injury, or something bigger. I don’t know if this is something that clears up with antibiotics or something that changes my life.
What I know is that it’s my only eye, and it’s getting worse.
I have an appointment scheduled. I’m getting it looked at. And I’m going to document all of it and bring you with me.
This is the scariest thing I’ve dealt with since I lost my first eye.
