Tokyo Live 💖🏮 HUGE Ikebukuro Festival! Mikoshi, Japanese Dancing & Autumn in Tokyo! ⛩️
Description: Today we're back outdoors for another live adventure from Tokyo, Japan! 🇯🇵✨
And autumn REALLY feels like it's here now! 🍂
Today is cold and cloudy, with more rain expected later. It finally feels like summer is disappearing and autumn has properly arrived in Tokyo!
But the cooler weather should be perfect for walking around outside, because today we're heading to Ikebukuro for a BIG festival! 🏮⛩️
Today we're exploring the Fukuro Matsuri, one of Ikebukuro's major autumn festivals!
Ikebukuro is usually known as one of Tokyo's busiest shopping and entertainment districts, but today the streets will have a completely different atmosphere as the festival takes over the area.
One of the biggest things I'm looking forward to is seeing the MIKOSHI! ⛩️✨
We'll watch traditional portable shrines being carried through the busy streets of Ikebukuro, surrounded by the sounds, energy and atmosphere of a Japanese festival.
There will also be traditional Japanese dancing and performances to discover, so we'll explore the festival area and see as much as we can!
And of course, we'll spend some time simply exploring Ikebukuro too! 🚶♀️
We'll wander through the shopping areas and busy streets, see what interesting things we find along the way, and look for something tasty to eat while we're out.
It should be really interesting to see the contrast between modern Ikebukuro—with its huge buildings, shops and crowds—and a traditional Japanese festival happening right in the middle of it! 🏙️🏮
Hopefully the rain holds off long enough for us to enjoy everything, and the cool autumn weather makes for a comfortable day of exploring Tokyo. 🍂☁️
