You're Paying So Much More for the Iran War Than They’re Telling You
Description: What is the war in Iran costing you?
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently told Congress that the US government has spent $37.5 billion on the Iran War so far, and requested an additional $67 billion in emergency funding.
But what about the costs that don’t factor into Hegseth’s accounting—ones the rest of us are actually paying? This goes way beyond what you pay at the pump and affects the cost of everything from airline tickets and Amazon delivery fees to stuffed animals, diapers, baby wipes, bottled water and clothing.
Meanwhile, experts warn that a spike in fertilizer prices could spark historic levels of global hunger in some parts of the world.
And economists say the full impact hasn't begun to hit us yet.
