The Collapse of AI Software Engineering
Description: AI was supposed to replace software developers, slash costs, and make Big Tech more productive than ever. So why are companies still struggling to turn faster coding into better software?
This video explores the growing problems behind AI-generated code and the promise of AI replacing developers. That creates an incentive to frame layoffs and cost-cutting as evidence of successful AI transformation, even when the underlying business picture is more complicated. AI can be a powerful tool for developers, but replacing the people who understand the code is a very different proposition.
The question isn’t whether AI can write software, it’s whether companies can afford what happens after it does.
