Michael Thomas filed the proposed class action Oct. 2 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He alleges the company since at least 2019 operated a centralized machine-learning “pricing engine” that pools confidential sales data from franchisees and corporate stores to generate price recommendations — effectively turning competing restaurants into price-fixing partners.
