SteamOS 3.8 is the same software that ships on Valve's Steam Machine, and you can put it on your own gaming PC for free. We show two ways to do it: a dual boot that keeps Windows on its own drive, and a full install that wipes everything. For now you'll need an AMD graphics card, and anything with kernel-level anti-cheat like Battlefield or Valorant won't run, which is exactly why Jared kept Windows around. Nvidia owners still get a path, because Bazzite gives you the same Big Picture setup on an RTX card. The install takes 10 to 20 minutes. The step that matters most takes ten seconds: unplug your Windows drive first.
