Animal Friends - Ryan Reynolds & Jason Momoa | The R-Rated Road Trip!
Description: #AnimalFriends #RyanReynolds #JasonMomoa
Warner Bros. Pictures has scheduled Animal Friends for a January 22, 2027 theatrical release, the latest in a series of date changes for this live-action animated hybrid comedy. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pony and Jason Momoa as the voice of Bear, two fugitive animals who embark on a cross-country adventure to find the ranch that was once their home.
Peter Atencio, known for Keanu and Key & Peele, directs from a screenplay by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. The cast includes Aubrey Plaza as a DEA agent, Daniel Levy as a Fish and Wildlife ranger, Lil Rel Howery as the voice of a bird, and Ellie Bamber, Addison Rae, Eric Andre, Vince Vaughn, and Rob Delaney in supporting roles. Pony is described as a tiny narcissist, while Bear is uncharacteristically conflict-averse. The project was originally set for release by Columbia Pictures on August 15, 2025, before Legendary's distribution deal with Sony ended and Warner Bros. acquired the rights. The film has since moved through multiple dates including October 10, 2025, May 1, 2026, and June 5, 2026, before landing on its current January 2027 window. Filming concluded in April 2024, with DNEG handling the animation.
