Amanda Seyfried brings wide-eyed wonder and fierce emotional courage to Jane Porter, a young woman who steps from a sunlit beach into the dense jungle and is completely dwarfed by the scale of everything around her, who sits by a river sketching tropical plants until a massive crocodile explodes from the water and Tarzan drops from the canopy in a vertical free-fall and lands barefoot on the wet rock between her and death without looking at her. Their connection builds not through romance but through the slow beautiful process of two different worlds learning to see each other, his scarred hand turning her smooth pale fingers over with quiet wonder, her eyes studying his face rather than their hands.
