my eyeball is getting worse..
Description: my eyeballs in pain and I still don't have answers..
But something did change. And it isn't what I expected.
If you missed the last video, here's where I'm at. What started as what I thought was a stye turned into something that wouldn't go away. Swelling. Redness. Pain. Weeks of it getting worse every single day. I lost my right eye to cancer when I was 2 years old and I've worn a prosthetic ever since, which means I have one real eye. One. Everything I see runs through it. And a few weeks ago, both sides of my face started going wrong at once.
I went to the doctor. I told you I'd update you the second I knew something.
That was seven days ago.
I'm still waiting.
Seven days of checking my eye in the mirror every morning. Seven days of not knowing if it's healing or if it's turning into something worse. Seven days of refreshing my phone waiting for a call that hasn't come. If you've ever been stuck in the waiting part of a medical thing, you know that the not knowing is its own kind of awful.
And in those seven days, my eye changed.
There's a ball on it now.
A hard lump, sitting on the lid, that wasn't there before. You can see it from across a room. It's the first thing anyone notices when they look at me. It's the thing that makes people's faces change mid conversation.
Here's the part I didn't expect.
It looks worse than it has ever looked. But it might actually be getting better.
The angry red is gone. The deep bruising has faded. What's left is this hard ball, and from everything I've read, that can be what happens when the infection walls itself off and starts to settle. So I'm sitting here with an eye that looks more disturbing than it did a week ago, while possibly being closer to healed than it's been the entire time.
Or I'm completely wrong and it's getting worse.
That's the thing. I don't know. I'm not a doctor. I'm a guy with one eye and no callback.
In this video, I show you everything up close. The lump, what it actually looks like right now with no filter and no angle tricks. I walk through the full week day by day. What changed, when it changed, what it feels like, what I can and can't do. I talk about what it's been like living with one working eye and a face that makes strangers stare. And I tell you exactly what happens next and when I should finally have answers.
If you've followed me since HOW I LOST MY EYE, since i lost my eyes, since every hospital video and every surgery, you know this eye is the one I can't replace. You know why this one scares me in a way none of the others did.
I'm calling them again this week. I'm getting answers. And when I do, you'll be the first to know.
Part 3 coming soon.
