Sagarmanthan 2026 LIVE: Why Smaller Nations Need Stronger Maritime Lifelines | ORF x Firstpost

Description: For small island and coastal states, the ocean is more than a route for trade — it is a lifeline for economies, connectivity, food security and national resilience. Yet these states face outsized risks from maritime disruptions, climate pressures, supply-chain vulnerabilities and growing security challenges.

At Sagarmanthan 2026, Session 11 brings together James Ellsmoor, Chief Executive Officer, Island Innovation, Portugal; Deborah Onga, Chief Commercial Officer, PNG Ports Corporation, Papua New Guinea; and Malshini Senaratne, Director, Eco-Sol Consulting, Seychelles, to examine how small states can strengthen maritime resilience and protect the lifelines that connect them to the world.

Hosted by ORF x Firstpost in New Delhi, Sagarmanthan 2026 brings together 1,200+ speakers, delegates and participants from nearly 75 countries to shape conversations on the future of oceans, maritime trade, technology, sustainability and security.
