The Musculoskeletal Hand of the Torso 3 Robot
Description: New teleoperation footage of the Torso 3 robot by Clone Robotics reveals a biomimetic system that moves with remarkable human realism.
Unlike conventional robots driven by electric motors, the Torso 3 utilizes a musculoskeletal design that pairs a skeletal structure with proprietary Myofiber artificial muscles. The highly articulated Clone Hand accurately mirrors human anatomy with 27 degrees of freedom, enabling it to execute complex manipulation tasks and naturally interact with its environment.
The latest teleoperation demonstration highlights the fluid motion achieved through this water-powered hydraulic approach rather than traditional gearboxes. This development represents a notable shift in engineering, moving closer to authentic human-level dexterity in a synthetic frame.
Will musculoskeletal architecture eventually replace motor-driven joints in advanced humanoid robotics?
