Tokyo Live 💖⛩️ HUGE Mikoshi Festival in My Childhood Neighborhood! Exploring Kichijoji! 🍂
Description: Today we're back outdoors for another live adventure from Tokyo, Japan! 🇯🇵✨
And finally, NO RAIN today! 😂☁️
It's looking like a great day for an outdoor stream. The morning will start cloudy before turning sunnier later, and temperatures are expected to be a little warmer than the cool weather we've had recently.
Hopefully it doesn't get too hot... but I'm just happy we can enjoy a full day outside without worrying about the rain! ☀️
Today we're heading somewhere a little special to me...
Kichijoji is one of the areas where I spent a lot of time during my childhood! 💖
The Ogikubo Hachiman Grand Festival!
One of the things I'm most excited about is seeing all the mikoshi! Different mikoshi will be making their way through the Kichijoji area, so we'll explore the neighborhood and hopefully encounter plenty of them along the way.
There's something amazing about seeing these huge portable shrines being carried through the streets with all the energy, chanting and atmosphere of a Japanese festival! ⛩️
But today isn't only about the festival!
We'll also spend some time exploring Kichijoji's shopping streets and seeing what has changed around an area I remember from my childhood.
Later, we'll head to the big park in Kichijoji and have lunch outside! 🍱🌳
Autumn is just beginning, so I'm also really curious to see whether any of the leaves have started changing color yet. The park becomes absolutely beautiful once the autumn colors arrive, so maybe we'll get our first little glimpse of the season today! 🍂
