Tokyo Live ๐๐ฆ Japan's WATER Festival! Fukagawa Hachiman Matsuri, Mikoshi & Festival Food! โฉ๏ธ
Description: Today I'm streaming outdoors from Japan! ๐ฏ๐ตโจ
Today we're visiting one of Tokyo's most exciting summer festival - the Fukagawa Hachiman Matsuri! โฉ๏ธ๐ฆ
This festival is famous for something a little unusual...
WATER! Lots and lots of water! ๐๐ฆ
As the mikoshi parade makes its way through the streets, people along the route throw and spray water over the participants carrying the portable shrines. It's one of the reasons the festival is sometimes known as Tokyo's "Water-Throwing Festival"!
We'll be heading through the Monzen-Nakacho area and along Eitai-dori, where we can experience that classic Japanese festival atmosphere with mikoshi, crowds, festival food, and plenty of water! ๐ฎ๐ก
I'm also planning to visit Eitai Bridge and explore some of the surrounding streets along the way.
Thankfully, today is another relatively cool summer day in Tokyo!
There's some rain expected, and it's probably going to be very humid, but after the normal extreme heat of August, I'll happily take the cooler temperatures. ๐โ๏ธ
Although considering we're going to a festival where everyone gets sprayed with water anyway... maybe a little rain won't make much difference! ๐ฆโ
So get ready for mikoshi, Japanese festival food, traditional Tokyo streets, and probably a LOT of water!
Come join me for another exciting summer adventure in Tokyo as I bring you...
A little piece of Japan every day! ๐ฏ๐ตโจย Close description
