Scam Alert: Minor hockey teams targeted in new scam

Description: Victoria Minor Hockey issued an alert on Facebook sharing an email that's circulating. The scam email invites teams to participate in an U-18 Whiteout taking place in January in Victoria. The email asks for a $1,800 entry fee. BC Hockey says the email looks real, uses Gmail and legitimate tournament registration forms. The association says anyone who receives an unexpected invitation should verify it with the tournament host before clicking links or sending payment.
